A major snowfall event is on tap for the Alberta and Saskatchewan. In excess of 50 cm (20 inches) of snow could fall in some areas before all is said and done. Calgary has already picked up several inches of snow with several more likely by the end of the weekend. Snow will continue into Monday for many areas. |

Warm weather is finally making its way into the Great Lakes and Northeast, streaming into Atlantic Canada and Quebec. Some areas have topped out around 25°C today (77°F). This warm weather looks to continue for the next several days with temperatures near 20°C (68°F) being the likely average. Severe weather in the Southeast USA is on-going at this hour with tornado watches up for areas in Louisiana and Alabama. Tornadoes, hail and strong winds appear possible this evening. Storms should weaken after sunset and continue to move toward the East Coast. |
